Third Party RuleI have to say when I woke up this morning, I had a pit in my stomach. I was wondering how the elections went. When I pulled up the news, that lump in my stomach got bigger as I was looking over the election results.

I started checking more and more news sites with disbelief. I found myself spinning out of control mentally with so many questions in my head.

What…we did not sweep it like many out there predicted?

I know I got out there and voted, and I know many others who went and voted.

I mean, what is up with some people? I can’t believe people voted for those who are killing the nation.  Can’t they feel the pain as well? Aren’t their grocery bills, heating bills, and high gasoline costs affecting them too?

I sat there in my chair shaking my head in disbelief.

It was at that time I felt the gentle tug of the Lord reminding me, “Remember the Third-Party Rule.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 says to ‘Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.’

This is Cynthia’s and my life verse. We often refer to it as “The Third-Party Rule.”

Why is that?

When you have done all you can reasonably do about a situation with all your knowledge, talents, and strength, the only thing left is for us to put the situation into God’s Hands and then walk away.

It is called “Trusting in the Lord.” And for many, this is hard as it gets. Please know I understand, as it is hard for me at times as well.

With the recent elections, many are feeling hopeless and helpless. Again, I am feeling it as well.

Here is a simple fact, trusting in the Lord has become a forgotten truth I believe we need to relearn.

Often we toil with daily trials when in reality, we forget we have a father in heaven who will take care of this stuff for us.

Now am I talking about some ‘Sugar Daddy’ in the sky? No, not at all.

I am one who believes in doing the best you can with what the Lord provides for you, and when you have hit the end of your limited talents, abilities, and strength, then the Lord is there to take over the steering wheel, and we should let Him do the driving.

The problem is many of us are gluttons for punishment, and we often insist we do the driving ourselves. Which always seems to get us more in the dump and, for some, in more trouble. Whereas if we simply handed the steering wheel over to Him, we would be amazed at how things just seem to work themselves out.

Fearful ManI do not like to be the bearer of bad news, but we will still have the same issues we have to deal with, no matter who is in charge.

We are coming into some hard times here in the US, and things are going to get worse before they get better.

Examples are…

– There is a lack of fertilizer which means crops will not be planted, and those that are planted will have lower yields.  This, in turn, will lead to more food shortages.

– There is a lack of seed. Many farmers say it is getting harder and harder to find seed for next year’s plantings. Again, there will be less food being grown.

– The ever-rising fuel costs and diesel costs are a major concern.

– With the ever-rising inflation and the rising costs, everything continues to go up, and the list goes on.

These are things that will be with us no matter what and who is in power.

I think it is important we start stepping back from the world and start surrounding ourselves with the things and ways of the Lord. The only way we are going to survive the coming storm is to learn to get back to the simpler things in life.

See, when we are living a simple life, the enemy does not have us rushing around like chickens with our heads cut off. When we are living a simpler life and letting God have control, it is like we have the time to smell the roses and take in all the blessings God has provided for us.

The more we can “Trust in the Lord and lean not on our own understanding,” the easier life is, and the stress is melted away.

Now, am I saying that we all sit around and do nothing? NO… keep pushing forward, keep prepping, and if anything, double down on your preps.

Do you want a rich life with little stress?

Lifting it up to GodMake Proverbs 3:5-6 your life verse and truly live it daily. It will make a huge difference in your life. It has for Cynthia and me, and I know He will do it for you too.

Take that step of faith and just Trust Him. You will be glad you did.

Learn to live by The Third-Party Rule.

I hope this has helped you in one way or the other.
