Have we hit the tipping point? If you are like me, you have noticed that society is beginning to erode. The stress, anger and angst of people have been growing to a point that people are starting to lash out.

One of the things I frequently do is keep an eye on our local neighborhoods and cities. I do this by belonging to a website called Nextdoor.com

Like many of you, I get alerted when a new post is posted regarding topics that I follow.

In the past week, I have been seeing an increase in crime posts, mind blowing utility bills and people seeking financial help due to the financial circumstances that they are in.

I know that it is somewhat “normal” to see posts like this, but I mean these sort of posts has just exploded.

Here are some examples of what I am talking about just in the last week.

CRIME

Be careful everyone. If you have something in your yard you don’t want stolen, bring it in. I was working last night and didn’t get off until 11. My neighbor texted me to see if I was in my backyard at 9pm. They had seen someone walking around. My yard is fenced, signs posted and chained locked. I think they must have checked my shed which is also locked. They moved one of my chairs to get back over the fence. If you don’t have sensor lights, you might want to leave a porch light on.

__________________________

Ok ladies and gentlemen one of the reason’s I have big dogs that bark a lot happened today. While I was away with two of my children my wife and youngest son were home alone. Both of my Rottweilers were in the back yard on the deck. Someone was STUPID enough to come over my fence to try to rob me or maybe even worse.

__________________________

Make sure you are locking your car doors overnight and don’t leave any valuables in plain sight. Over the past week thieves have struck in our local neighborhoods.

But that is not all, I have been seeing a LOT of posts about folks utility bills being a lot higher than they expected.

UTILITY BILLS

I received my gas bill yesterday and was SHOCKED! My ‘budget’ amount almost doubled! I called the local gas company and was told that it was due to the increase in the cost of Natural Gas and the projection for the upcoming winter weather.

__________________________

My electric is also sky high & I can’t figure out how I owe that much ($400). I also live in a 900 sq ft condo so there’s no way that bill is legit.

__________________________

My electric bill is out of control. I live in a 900 square-foot townhouse in the only major electrical usage is from my refrigerator and my radiant ceiling heater. I don’t even have a washer/dryer I live alone and I’m away at work at least nine hours of the day five days a week.

__________________________

Folks, this is just a short sampling of what I have found, and this is locally. If you look at some of the national news sites, this is being echoed all over the nation.

If you missed my last article titled “Food Inflation Hitting Hard and Gallon-Sized Cans of Food Showing Up Early?” then go, take the time to read it.

Just so you know, my website has exploded over this article.

I say this because I have been getting a number of comments on this article not only on Facebook but my website itself.

Here is a comment that caused the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up.

“I worked retail meat for 30 years and spent about 10 years in grocery distribution. Through that lens I think I see this: grocers getting what they can from who they can and getting it out onto the shelves-kinda like panic buying at the distribution level.

At some point all these odds and ends and extras will have been forced out to the stores and bought up by hungry customers. Once these odd n ends are exhausted, hang on! Then there will be nothing left in the pipeline but the whatever meager production that will come out of food processing plants that are all vying for product, for packaging supplies, for energy to run their plants, for staffing and lastly for transportation for their products.

Once we’re to that point there is no refilling the pipeline, shortages will get worse and worse and then you’ll start seeing the violence, the rioting and the true nature of collapse-starvation and disease and death.”

I present all these examples because I have to say that I am concerned that we are closing in on the tipping point.

Fear that we have reached the tipping point

What Do I Mean By “The Tipping Point”?

The tipping point is the point where the common person is realizing that something is going on and fear and panic is starting to enter.

All of a sudden they realize they are behind the 8-ball, and they start going into panic mode.

They realize this in the fact that their utility bills are grossly overpriced than what they expected.

They are personally seeing it due to the serious rise in crime in their areas.

They are seeing it weekly because the cost of their grocery bill is doubling and tripling.

There is as slow brewing of the masses and the sheeple are starting to wake up.

And… when the sheeple start waking up to what is really going on around us, I fear that chaos will ensue.

If you are like me, you have been preparing your ark for you and your family. I have seen the storm coming from the far distance and you have taken action to make sure that you are able to weather the storm.

But the sheeple, they are just starting to realize that the storm is coming, and they don’t have the time, nor the resources to shore themselves up.

So, what do they do? They start to go into panic mode.

Remember back when Covid started and there was a run-on toilet paper?

Remember how crazy that was?

People went into panic mode and started to buy anything and everything and a number of items became scarce.

I strongly believe that the slow brew is going to start turning into a full boil in the next several months and the preverbal poo is going to start hitting the fan.

Why do I say this?

There are several factors coming into play

1 – winter is coming, and the masses are going to start feeling the affects of winter. With the cost of utilities, gas for vehicles, and a projected early and VERY cold winter coming, just this will cause the grocery store shelves to thin out even more.

2 – The elections are coming. I believe that the republicans are going to sweep the elections, and with that, the crazy left is going to go ballistic. Or we are going to see a lot of election fraud and that is going to cause the conservative side to go crazy.

3 – Inflation is getting worse, and recession is taking more and more of a foothold. This means more of the American families buying power is being stripped from them. Less buying power means that it will take more dollars to get the things that are needed and pay the essential bills.

Now… my goal is NOT to be some doom and gloom sort of person. I see myself as a watchman on the wall and I have been seeing this distant storm coming for some time now.

What is concerning me is that I believe the storm is starting to pick up speed and momentum.

What Can You Do?

Now is the time to take stock in what you have in your families “ark”. Start filling in those holes regarding your food supplies as well as equipment to help you weather this for a longer term.

With that, I want to make some personal recommendations of things that you may consider getting so you have them on hand.

You Need a Excalibur DehydratorExcalibur Dehydrator – We are still in August and the harvest of fruits and veggies are peaking. This means much lower prices at the grocery store and even lower prices at your local street market.

For example, I just picked up 6 lbs of bananas at .55 cents a pound. I dehydrated them and they make an great snack that my family loves.

Roma tomatoes are inexpensive right now, so I have been dehydrating these and then running the dehydrated tomatoes in the blender to make tomato powder. FYI.. this stuff rocks and there is so much that you can do with tomato powder.

We will continue to see lower produce prices probably into early October when the late summer and early fall harvest starts to taper off. Take advantage of this time, dehydrate this extra and stock up for winter.

Here is a link for the Excalibur Dehydrator – https://amzn.to/3w6MYqt

This is the best that you can get, and it is a workhorse. I have had mine for years and never burned out.

You Need a Foodsaver Vacuum Bag SealerFoodSaver Vacuum Bag Sealer – Remember me mentioning about going to the local street market? I have been picking up corn for .40 cents an ear. This is corn season and farmers are selling it cheap just to get it off their hands. I bought 5 meals worth, and vacuum sealed them up for the winter.

I have eggplant growing in the garden as well as zucchini, guess what I am going to do? Yep, vacuum seal these up and stick them in the freezer as well.

The Foodsaver is a GREAT tool to help you stock up your freezer. AND…just so you know, you can also vacuum seal things like pasta, beans and other dry goods. Add an oxygen absorber to these before you seal them, and they these will last years.

COOL GUY TIP – put together some food items like protein bars, tuna pouches, beef jerky, M&M candy and stick them all into a Foodsaver bag and make your own custom MRE (Meal Ready To Eat)

Here is the Foodsaver model that I have – https://amzn.to/3pkM3Pu

I like this model because it has a vacuum port that takes an attachment to vacuum seal mason jars. Suck all the air out of those dehydrated foods you are preparing, and you will get even longer shelf life.

Augason Farms MilkAugason Farms Milk – I don’t know about you and your family, but we tend to go through the milk. So, what I have been doing is getting a can here and there of Augason Farms powered milk. This has a 20-year shelf life and it really tastes good.

Augason Farms Milk – https://amzn.to/3AiNtQB

ALSO… Augason Farms makes some great chocolate milk as well. I have tried this and it rocks! This also has a 20-year shelf life. I keep this as a special treat for our daughter. It is a bit expensive, but Amazon has this on sale quiet often so keep an eye out for it.

IN FACT – I have created a page dedicated to Augason Farms where I am constantly keeping an eye on their sales.

Please check out my page and pick up some things that can help fill in those holes and not kill the budget either.

Think About Your Garden For Next Year

As you know I wrote an article titled “Lack of Fertilizer WILL Affect The US Food Supply Chain – What You Can Do To Prepare”. Again, if you have not read that article, go check it out.

Great garden seeds from Organo Republic StoreAnother thing that I am hearing a lot about is the lack of seeds for next year. This is serious and you need to think long term.

Start getting your spring garden supplies NOW.

The seeds that I use and have had GREAT success is from a company called “Organo Republic Store. This is a small company, and they take a lot of pride in the seeds that they produce.

They have a lot of different variety packs that will help you get a garden going.

Here are some that I have and have planted and harvested from…

25 Summer Vegetable & Fruit Seeds Variety Pack for Planting Outdoors and Indoor Home Gardening – https://amzn.to/3QHnI1M

12 Easy to Grow Herb Seeds Variety Pack for Planting Indoor, Outdoors – https://amzn.to/3dxaqXe

Dr Earth Organic FertilizerWith fertilizer becoming scarce next spring, think about how you will feed your garden. I have a worm composting bin that I made, and we have 1200 red wiggler worms. They are veracious little eaters and will turn your kitchen scraps into incredible fertilizer.

The way that I have my bins set up, I am also able to harvest their “worm pee”. This stuff is liquid gold, and you will see your plants explode if you use this on your plants.

If you check out my You Tube Channel, I will be putting up “how to make your own worm bin” videos so that you can do this as well.

If you don’t want to mess around with worms, then I highly recommend Dr. Earth Organic 5 Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer. This stuff is great and I have seen a lot of growth in my garden when I have been feeding my plants this. It is inexpensive and really works.

Personal Protection / Home Security

With the masses starting to brew and possibly coming to a slow boil, now is the time to really look over your home security and start filling those holes.

As time gets harder and harder, the sheeple masses will get crazier and crazier. Because we work from home, I wanted a way to carry my firearm comfortably and consistently.

My answer?

A while back I invested in chest rig so that I can comfortably carry a firearm on me at all times.

You need a Kenai Chest HolsterWhy a chest rig? With a side carry holster, it was constantly getting in the way.

I have a nice side carry rig, but I really needed something so that when I am here sitting at my desk, I can just continue to wear it. Where with my side carry rig, I was finding myself constantly pulling my weapon out and putting it on my desk.

The negative is that there are times that one can get up, go to the bathroom or do something and leave it there on the desk.

I wanted a solution that I would have it on me no matter what I am doing.

Kenai Chest Holster  – After a lot of research, I settled on the Kenai Chest Holster by GunfightersINC. This had the best reviews and now that I have had it for a while, it wears really comfortably. It is super easily adjustable and easy on and off.

Another point about the Kenai Chest Holster is that you can comfortably wear it with a backpack and the straps, and such do not get in the way.

When I purchased this a while back it was around $147 for the chest rig. I just checked the price, and it has basically stayed within the same ball park for $159. Again, this rig is totally worth it.

Now that you have the means to carry all the time while at home, start looking at preventing / slowing down the bad guys getting in.

Slowing The Bad Guys Down From Entering Your Home

No matter what, if someone wants to break into your home, they are going to do it. The key is to slow them down so that you have the time to react and be ready to protect your home front.

With that, here are some things that I have put in place to help slow the bad guys down, thus allowing me the time to gear up and keep the family safe.

You need 8 Mil Window Film8mil window film – Look into getting some 8mil window film for any windows that can be broken into easily. If you put this on both sides of you window or say sliding glass door, it is said to prevent a .22 bullet as well as birdshot from a 12-gauge shotgun.

It will also prevent rocks, bricks and even crowbars from busting through you glass.

GE Personal Security Window and Door Alarm
– Another item that I have around our home is the GE Personal Alarm System.

I learned about these several years ago by a fellow prepper buddy, “Southern Prepper 1” and have put many of these in place in windows, doors, and also created trip wires like you can see in this video from Southern Prepper 1

Musashi 1060 Differentially Hardened Katana – OK…so maybe a handgun isn’t your style, or you can’t get one. The next best thing is a sword.

I am a huge fan of the Katana, aka Samurai sword. It is a very easy weapon to use and if you can swing a golf club or baseball bat, you can do a lot of damage to a home invader.

The Katana is a weapon that a common person can quickly learn to use and actually use effectively if they get out in the back yard and practice cutting bottles and other objects.

You want proof? Check this article out…

Man uses katana to stop home invasion. This is the gory aftermath

Let’s face it, we all know someone who has a few samurai swords. Whether they’re there to prevent a home invasion, or an attack by zombies after the SHTF has occurred, everyone has a reason for owning swords.

Well, in this case, the swords came to a very good use and helped to defend a man’s family from home invaders. This is the gory aftermath. The home invaders were stopped immediately upon entry into the man’s home. They bailed to their getaway car but did not make it very far due to massive blood loss. They were found by police shortly after driving away, both unconscious due to blood loss.

I am very partial to the Musashi Company and their excellent swords. Not only are they great quality, but they are priced right too. For about $120 you can have a sword that is truly battle ready and a beautiful piece of art.

This is the best sword everHere is the description from Amazon…

Part of a new 1060 high carbon series from Musashi. With the result being well within that goal, this blade is nothing short of an excellent value. Handmade, the blade hamon is formed by the clay temper process during production. The blade is differentially hardened and comes extremely sharp. Like the more expensive models, this blade can even be bent 45 degrees and returned to the straight and true form. This sword is well balanced, and the tight handle wrap feels great.

Materials and Way of Forge:

  • Traditional hand forge Muku-kitae method.
  • 1060 High Carbon Steel with clay temper process.
  • 55 HRC blade hardness. Hamon and hardness created with temper process.
  • Real hamon, not wire brushed or printed.
  • Real ray skin wrapped grip with black cotton cord wrap.
  • Extremely sharp hand honed edge.
  • Steel tsuba, fuchi, and kashira; Brass habaki.
  • Can be disassembled for care or display. Dual bamboo mekugi (peg), hardwood handle.
  • Hardwood scabbard with high quality piano paint finish.
  • 39 3/4 in. overall, 27 1/2 in. blade, 10 3/4 in. handle.
  • Includes black cotton sword storage/carry bag.

Are You a Beginner? Get My Free Guide

Now, all of these things I have mentioned above are just high points to get you thinking.

But I know that some of you reading this do not know where to even start.

That is why I have written a QuickStart Guide that you can find on my website.

No email address is needed, no subscription, nothing. I am giving this away because it is important that more people are prepared for this coming storm.

The way I figure is that the more people that are prepared, the less people I have to worry about some of you following the chaotic masses doing crazy stuff.

If you are reading this article on my website, just look to the upper right and you will see my QuickStart Guide.

If you are reading this article on one of the other great news websites, then go to https://raymondmhor.com

This guide is just scratching the surface, but it will get you going in the right direction.

Conclusion

Folks, I believe that things are coming to a boil a lot quicker and that we are beginning to reach the tipping point.

Once the masses truly wake up, then there will be a “Have vs Have Not” mentality that could go rabid. Home invasions will go up, carjacking, stick ups right on the street. All this will come about when the masses wake up and realize that they are massively behind the 8-ball.

If you maintain that “protector sheep dog” mentality, the odds are good that most of the sheeple masses will leave you alone and they will prey on other sheeple.

It is the few “wolves” out there who are brazen and may stumble upon you, your family and home that I am concerned with.

But if you have done all you can to the best of your ability, then all you can do from that point on is put it in God’s hands and trust that He will see you through.

With that I want to leave you with some scripture…

Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.

Jeremiah 48:10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

Luke 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

And one that really hits home very hard- Husbands and Fathers pay attention to this one…

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

THIS JUST IN…

One of the people that I follow on You Tube just pushed this video out. Take the time to watch it. She is echoing a lot of the same things that I am saying.

Appalachia’s Homestead with Patara – https://youtu.be/SaDQdKiHZNw

Here is another report from Southern Prepper 1 who I have been following for a while now. You want to watch this, he is giving reports from all over the nation on how inflation is hitting the common man.

Just remember that you are ahead of the masses if you are doing something about this situation. To do nothing means that you will be leaving you and your family to the whims of the masses, and that is not a good place to be.

I know that this has been a long article. If you have any questions or such, please feel free to reach out to me.

  1. Great stuff!!
Also, we may very likely get hit with nuclear war and invasion of our borders soon. Russia and China are in collusion against us.

  2. Great article. I use nextdoor for the same thing as you do and are seeing the same issues. The SHTFis about to start

  3. These are all great tips, Raymond, thank you. We dehydrate, and also use the food saver vacuum packer for all kinds of items from hot chocolate to teas, to nuts and snacks and all manner of bulk items including potatoes and rice and beans. One other thing we practice is to allow for 10-15 dollars worth of “add-ons” when we’re shopping so it might be a couple of cans of beets and some canned protein, or who knows what just to add to our preps. The auguson product is a great way to stock up, and we’ve found that their dehydrated peanut butter is still a value. Don’t forget about oils also, many of which can be frozen for longer keeping. We’ve found coconut oil works well for this. Also, with beef herds being forced to market due to drought and lack of feed, look for cheap ground beef as breeder cattle won’t grade well enough for retail cuts so they get ground and grinding shortens shelf life considerably, and if you live in beef country see if there is a grower partnering with a local packer that is liquidating their feeder herds via locker beef discounts. We hopped on this right when feed went scarce and saved about 40% versus the regular, local going rate for locker beef. If you get a half or whole steer for the freezer don’t forget to ask for all the fat trimming-can be rendered for tallow, or used to supplement pet food, all the offals (organ meats)-again to supplement pet food (but be cautious and don’t overfeed offals as they can be toxic due to high mineral, vitamin contents), and bones as the bones can be used for stock and/or pets. Lastly, I don’t recommend specific weapons, but I do recommend for each able bodied person: a 12 gauge shotgun, a defensive rifle, a defensive, full size handgun-revolver or semi auto, but I prefer semi auto for increased capacity, and a concealable subcompact (my choice is a 5 shot snubbie for a pocket sized weapon), and if space/environment require it, to have a long range, scoped, bolt action for hunting and long range self defense. Buy weapons in common military/police calibers as they will be easier to find ammo and spare parts for. Sorry for the long comment. Prepping and homesteading, meat and weapons are kinda my thing.

  4. You might be thinking that vitamins are only needed for healthy people, but the truth is you can’t live without them. Most of your body’s nutrients come from food–and if they don’t exist in what we eat then their absence will show up as an illness or deficiency later on down the road!
